Small Press Day 2026, indie zines and comics markets

booksJul 25, 202635363

Small Press Day 2026 saw UK and regional indie comics communities mark the occasion with new zines, mini comics and in-person markets in Leeds, London and other hubs. UK-based collective SKRAWLLORDZ released and promoted SKRAWL COMIX MAGAZINE #3, accompanied by a crowdfunding push and contributor interviews, prose and illustration. Organizers and creators ran market tables and signings at venues including Brew Society and the Cartoon Museum while the Leeds Comics Collective hosted a Small Press Day presence. Digital and pay-what-you-want offerings featured too: a Scottish comics bundle sold 30 indie comics for $20 with 13% of proceeds pledged to PCRF, and Kid Eastwood made roughly 1,600 pages available to read online. Many creators used the day to finish or push upcoming issues, announce reopenings of small shops, or offer temporary discounts and free reads to reach readers.
