Trans Pride London marches and events take place today

London Trans+ Pride is taking place today with marches, rallies and public events across the city as supporters call for protection of trans rights. Organisers and participants say the event mixes protest and celebration amid what the Good Law Project calls a “vicious assault” on trans rights that is cutting access to work, sport, bathrooms and healthcare; the group urged people to add their names and press the new government to change course as July becomes a pivotal month for demonstrations nationwide. An organiser told Metro that a planned BBC interview was dropped after they declined to label the march solely a celebration rather than a protest. Campaigners say the Department of Health and Social Care has replied to a letter to Yvette Cooper and promised a response to related briefing materials once cleared by the new team. Many attendees posted logistical notes about travel, accessibility, and activist burnout, and groups including Bash Back urged people to bring placards and make noise during today’s events.
