Ok no joke, Avatar Aang was probably the most beautiful hand drawn animated film I’ve seen in years. Just absolutely breathtaking and beautiful. It just pisses me off even more that Paramount literally sabotaged its original theatrical run.

So what's bananas about this ("this" being the art team for Avatar Aang seemingly researching how to design South East Asian characters on ChatGPT) is how they recast nearly the entire voice cast to be more ethnically accurate, then asked a lying plagiarizing machine what they should look like.

Yknow I was thinking about seeing Avatar Aang despite some gripes with design choices but LMAO NOPE NOT ANYMORE

I'm gonna risk being ganged up on and say this about the "Avatar Aang used ChatGPT" thing: Some of y'all are being REALLY unfair to the actual artists who worked on the movie. AFAIK, A/i was used for "research" rather than visuals. Still sucks, but leave the artists out of it.

From Kat Tsai, one of the concept artists who worked on Avatar Aang... ...and also worked on Demon Hunters and Across and Beyond the Spider-Verse. At the very least, the fact that AI wasn't used during it's art process is encouraging.

Okay i waited and avoided leaks time to watch the aang movie Avatar team; so we asked chat gpt about the ethnic culture we based our character on Like come on bruh..

Steered clear of the leaks and finally watched Avatar Aang today. What an absolutely monumental artistic feat - the likes of which I have not seen for a VERY long time. I was moved to tears multiple times from the visuals alone. The animation, the backgrounds, the compositing - it's all 11/10. WOW!

Ahhh Avatar Aang was such a good movie! Definitely got misty eyed being with the characters again after so many years (grew up with the show, like most). Really well done story and the animation quality is top notch!

Avatar: The Last Airbender was such a great show from the mid 2000s era of animation! Strange they never made any sequels ever, and that 3 seasons of animation is all we have. Yes, those 3 seasons are all we have, we got nothing else from the show, no follow ups, movies, fighting games. Just that.
