Tomáš Ostrák curled a long-range winner in the 83rd minute to give St. Louis City a 1-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids. Colorado defender Rob Holding received a straight red card in the 12th minute for dragging down Sangbin Jeong, leaving City to play roughly 80 minutes against 10 men. St. Louis started without Eduard Löwen, with Jaziel Orozco returning to the back three alongside Timo Baumgartl and Dante Polvara and Conrad Wallem and Tomas Totland at wingback. Simon Becher had a disallowed offside goal around the 50th minute and Sangbin Jeong rattled the crossbar in the first half as City struggled to break through for long stretches. A match-day substitution brought Löwen on in the 58th minute to try to spark the attack, and Ostrák’s late strike provided the only finish. The result is City’s fourth straight win and extends their unbeaten run to eight matches in all competitions, and it gives St. Louis six points from their two regular-season meetings with Colorado this year.
