The Night Stalker just did "monsters in the modern world" so well! The scenes of a dozen cops trying and failing to stop and kill one rampaging vampire really did highlight how supernatural horrors can still be potent in a world of guns and technology.

JijiMilou1Yeah; despite its apparently modest budget the TV series did surprisingly okay with its special effects (for example, the headless motorcyclist is pretty obvious with the suspiciously tall jacket but it somehow doesn't detract from the story) so it was still scary to too-young viewers, lol
