Cormorants are fascinating birds. Unlike other birds, they don't have oil in their feathers to repel water because they actually swim underwater! You can see them, posing on docks and posts with their wings outstretched in order to dry their feathers. Can't fly with soaking wet feathers!

😧 They become trees? I remember hiking the canyons as a child with my aunt to pick chokecherries. My aunt made the most incredible jams and syrups out of them. But we picked them off bushes. Perhaps in a cultivated environment they become trees! 🌳
