Mayo beat Kerry 1-20 to 1-17 at Croke Park to claim the Sam Maguire Cup, ending a 75-year wait since their last All-Ireland title in 1951. The victory follows 11 final defeats for Mayo since that 1951 win, a run widely noted in coverage from RTÉ, BBC and the Irish Times.
