Prof Wilson is falling victim here to a thing I’ve done in the past: doing the wrong job in a review. She doesn’t like how Nolan’s movie interprets, and sees it as unfaithful to the original. She’s not reviewing it as a movie, she’s reviewing it as a literal translation of the Odyssey to screen.

I have no opinion on the film as I haven’t seen it, but the whole “Emily Wilson must be so grateful Nolan’s film made her famous” talking point, when she was already so very famous she had to weather a decade of hate from chuds is, I am sure, a bit frustrating. And women don’t have to be nice :)

I totally get where Emily Wilson is coming from here. I worked in data management and backup when Die Hard 4 came out and I’m sure normies enjoyed it but I was too familiar with data management and backup to be able to gloss over how unrealistic the bad guy’s plan was.
