FAA issues nationwide ground stop for American Airlines after IT outage
American Airlines flights have been grounded nationwide due to an IT failure, the FAA announces.
American Airlines: “A technology issue briefly impacted connectivity for some of our systems... Systems are coming back online now and flights are departing again. We put a temporary ground stop in place while our teams worked to resolve the issue…”
Also… every place is either on fire or flooding (me at the moment), cyclospora outbreak is spreading, measles cases are at a 35yr high, immigrants are being vilified, harassed & deported, and the prices of food, gas, healthcare/medication are skyrocketing. Congrats MAGA; it’s all going great.
Too much Palantir in their IT system?
Who'd have guessed that this = So Much Winning?
I may just be a humble caveman, but I'm sure we can expect Sean Duffy to go on FOX and blame Biden sometime soon.
But don't worry. We've got a crack team on the case....Oh, I'm sorry, apparently the crack referred to something else. Never mind.
This won’t have any major affect on travel into and out of DFW I’m sure
Flying on American later today to leave Maui. For the first time ever, I wouldn't be upset if my flight was cancelled.
after once again blaming pete buttigieg, transpo secretary sean duffy was invited to keynote the democrat socialists of america national conference.
hi so I'm on an American Airlines flight rn, but I can't really call it a "flight" their IT systems are down. across all networks. can't log in, can't board or deboard, can't fly. Every AA plane in the nation is grounded. They implemented AI tools this year tho so surely THAT will help :)
ALRIGHT. we're about to take ofd finally. thank god it didn't take longer, but I'm left more than a little worried about what this means for the airline. I don't have any proof that AI caused the issues but it just sounds so similar to stories about vibe coding that the tech sector is plagued with.
lmao yknow honestly it just might be
Obviously this a test run for Ai in advance of grounding ALL the airplanes.
Oh my. I'd more like say that could be the *reason*... Good luck!! 🫠
I was going to ask what this meant exactly, but your post pretty much explains it 😬
Sorry for the hassle you are experiencing.Truly.
AI for the "win" again
Great so I could fly American Airlines and have my flight never take off because of IT issues or fly Delta and have Evangelicals yelling at me about (their) Jesus
😅. Wish we had great high speed trains like Europe does.
We need Spirit Airlines back, the official airlines of those who never played organized sports in their lives!
I come from an Evangelical background. I won’t take that shit at all.
Or you could keep it interesting and fly Southwest #southwest
My plane can’t board because American Airlines’ website or network or something is down. It’s not clear what this has to do with the plane flying. I think they can’t scan our boarding passes?
United and Delta just seem orders of magnitude more competent.
AA IT strikes again. (JonNYC has a long record of being right about airline ops, and AA employees seem particularly willing to loop him in.)
You can't dispatch a flight (safely) if IT is down...
It's the Russians! (I am only half joking)
every ten years or so i fly american and have a comically terrible experience and swear never again.
So many AA systems went down simultaneously. Employee access systems went down, TSA can’t seem to find checked-in AA passengers in TSA system, & feeds to terminal flight board displays went down. The AA app seems to be working now to book new flights for tonight and tomorrow, but not going there.
Have you heard about the American Airlines system outage? Well, here I am on the tarmac at O’Hare. Wheeee! #AmericanAirlines
Take a stick of chewing gum from your mouth, attach your shoelace to it. Weave a thin strand of metal taken from your carry on,snake like, the length of the shoelace. Stick the gum with the home made antenna to the widow. I will now send the code to unlock the service trolley filled with alcohol!
Me too! Are you on flight 1974?
