Gen Con 2026 highlights include Mythic Bastionland demos and puppetry track

Gen Con 2026 featured standout playtests of Mythic Bastionland, a heavily attended puppetry programming track, and winners announced at the convention's cosplay cabaret awards. Mythworks appeared at booth 2945 with two games nominated for ENnie awards in the Best Family Game category. The ENnie Awards ceremony took place in a notably scenic venue during the weekend. Convention programming ran full schedules and long lines for signings and demos, and weather interruptions prompted shelter-in-place tornado warnings for some attendees. Several publishers and designers reported limited stock of popular releases and packed showcase events across exhibit halls and evening game nights.

We're currently passing time waiting for the tornado by discussing Kurt Vonnegut's GHQ boardgame, which was never published in his lifetime. The game was finally released in 2024 and we have a copy in the closet.
