Jerry Garcia art book reissued for his birthday
What's one of your favorite Grateful Dead or Jerry Garcia solo tunes? 🎶 Remembering Jerry Garcia, who was born on August 1, 1942, in San Francisco and co-founded the Grateful Dead in 1965. Garcia was renowned for his musical and technical ability, particularly his ability to play a variety of 👇
instruments and sustain long improvisations. He played with the Grateful Dead for the entire 30 years that they were together. In 1994, Garcia, along with the Grateful Dead, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Garcia died in 1995 of a heart attack just days after his 53rd birthday.
Ripple and Uncle John's Band.
This song... And a funny little story with it. I had neck surgery many years ago and when I woke up from the anesthesia this song was going through my head and the line" what a long strange trip it's been" I was looking around like WTH and thought, damn roll another one 😆 youtu.be/h_bwoXuUGho?...
Only 1 for me, since 1967, but I love this version... www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpKQ...
Ripple, Scarlet Begonias, etc. But my favourite that is less well known. Reuben and Cerise
I still shed a tear when hearing "Touch of Grey". Oh. the joys we had hearing Jerry play.
Although he didn’t like the label, Garcia was viewed by many as the leader of the Grateful Dead, being a founding member, a principal songwriter, the lead guitarist and a vocalist with the band. Garcia performed with the Grateful Dead for their entire 30-year career (1965–1995).

"American Beauty" is one of my favorite albums by anyone. And "Ripple" is a perfect song.
Working Man's Dead and American beauty were the only two albums that I had. I wasn't an official "Deadhead" but enjoyed many of their songs. youtu.be/h_bwoXuUGho?...
Albums: "Workingman's Dead" and "American Beauty" both released in 1970 Song: "Ripple", absolutely "Ripple" 😎
I love "American Beauty Rose" with "Box Of Rain", "Friend Of The Devil", "Ripple", "Truckin'". Also "Workingman's Dead" with "Uncle John's Band" and "Casey Jones".
Way too many to list. BUT, if I HAD to pick one, China/Rider. Love it at shows when everyone would cheer and sing along.
