Tom Holland is the first actor to star in films that occupy the four biggest opening weekends in box-office history, coverage of the weekend noted. Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Holland’s latest, opened to $355 million in US and Canadian theaters, the largest opening weekend of the year and the second-highest in Hollywood history. Bloomberg reported the $355 million haul more than doubled this year’s previous biggest debut, April’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The size of Brand New Day’s debut is the concrete development that lifted Holland to the four-biggest-openings milestone.

Theory: Tom Holland wasn’t actually in Avengers: Doomsday but after the smash success of the new Spider-Man they’re flying him to Atlanta in the next few weeks for some reshoots to squeeze him into the film
