Final Fantasy XIV went live worldwide today on Nintendo Switch 2, with Square Enix opening servers and a free trial available for new players. Square Enix released celebratory artwork by Kuroimori to mark the launch. The Switch 2 Complete Edition is listed at 30% off for a limited time while the free trial download was reported as about 117 GB. Some players reported running a 24‑man alliance raid at 1080p and approximately 60 fps on Switch 2 during early sessions. Several posts raised questions about subscription handling, asking whether Switch 2 players must purchase FFXIV Coins from the Nintendo eShop to pay for monthly service. New Switch 2 arrivals have already started logging playtime and sharing impressions of the port across social posts.
