Miami-Dade deputies surrounded a Miami residence Tuesday night after an influx of calls about a disturbing livestream that appeared to show celebrity blogger Perez Hilton harming himself. The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office said deputies arrived earlier, spoke with family at the scene, and by about 9 p.m. the man had been "safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention." The Times has not independently confirmed the video's authenticity; the livestream was removed from the platform. The sheriff's statement said deputies prioritized de-escalation, tactically disengaged while monitoring the scene, and that mental health professionals later provided support and resources to the individual's family. Neighbors told NBC6 that Hilton lived at the home but police would not confirm his identity; Hilton was born Mario Lavandeira Jr. A representative for Hilton did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
