Evacuation orders cover the entire community of Summerland, population 12,000, while a further 8,000 were told to flee in and around Peachland, both on the western shore of the lake in the BC Interior.

The Bald Range Wildfire has grown to 5000 hectares in an afternoon. It’s about 15 kilometres south east of us. The wind is currently blowing away from us. Go bags packed and 🤞.

The entire city of Summerland, about 15000 people, has been evacuated. The fire is reported to be threatening the downtown area. There are also 3 large fires about 50k north of here
