A funeral service for Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler took place at Swansea Minster, where family, friends, and fans paid tribute to the performer who died on 8 July aged 75. Tributes at the service were delivered by her tour manager Matthew Davies and talent scout Roger Bell, and the Welsh choir Only Men Aloud sang Bridge Over Troubled Water and Total Eclipse of the Heart while Those Were The Days was played. About 1,000 fans gathered on the streets outside the church to cheer and sing as her coffin arrived and left. A hearse then carried her coffin to nearby Skewen and a private ceremony will be held in the village where she was born in 1951. Tyler died in a Portuguese hospital weeks after emergency intestinal surgery and being placed in an induced coma. After finding fame she was dubbed the female Rod Stewart and enjoyed worldwide success across a 50-year career.
