The Hollywood Reporter says Charles Melton is in final negotiations to play Kakashi Hatake in Destin Daniel Cretton’s live-action Naruto film. Knight Edge Media reports Melton has boarded the project and says he had an offer while still negotiating with Marvel Studios to appear as Beast in an X-Men project. Knight Edge Media adds that production is set to begin early February next year in the United Kingdom and notes that Naruto has no set release date. The Hollywood Reporter also points out Melton recently earned a nomination for his work in the Netflix anthology Beef. If he's not gonna be MCU Beast for real then, going from Reggie from Riverdale to Kakashi is certainly an interesting transition from American Comic Adaptation to Manga Adaptation. And it will certainly be interesting if they keep Kakashi's face mostly covered.
