At TNA Lockdown on August 23, 2026 at the Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, Leon Slater defeated Cedric Alexander in a Last Man Standing Steel Cage match to capture the TNA X Division Championship. Alexander had previously dethroned Slater on the May 14 episode of Thursday Night Impact in a 2 Out Of 3 Falls match and had insisted that, should he win at Lockdown, Slater's earlier X Division reign be erased from the record. The Lockdown stipulation put Slater's history on the line as well as the title; by incapacitating Alexander and winning the Last Man Standing contest, Slater both regained the championship and preserved his prior reign in TNA history. The match was one of five titles defended on the Lockdown card, which began at 6 PM ET and featured multiple steel cage matches on the bill.
