CD Projekt Red unveiled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt expansion Songs of the Past at Gamescom, placing new story content in the dark region of Letten and introducing a new chain weapon alongside more than 30 hours of additional gameplay. The reveal aired during Gamescom’s opening show in Cologne as the five-day event kicked off, which organizers expect to draw hundreds of thousands of attendees. Alongside the expansion, CD Projekt Red confirmed The Witcher 3 Remastered will be a free upgrade for existing Steam owners on September 29 and that Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine will be included in the Remastered base game. CD Projekt Red also announced the Remastered edition will be made available to Switch 1 owners in both physical and digital forms. The announcements pair a major content expansion with a broad remaster rollout that players who already own the game can access next month.
