President Donald Trump erupted on Truth Social Friday at New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, calling her a "stalker" and insulting her as "Maggot Hagerman, the Fake Reporter from The Failing New York Times." The outburst responded to Haberman's report about his plans for the Sept. 11 anniversary, which said he would attend a Pentagon ceremony rather than the World Trade Center site because he would not be permitted to speak at Ground Zero. Trump accused Haberman of fabricating the account, called her a "SCAMMER," and asserted she has covered him for financial gain. He threatened legal action against The New York Times and said he would sue the organization that awards the Pulitzer Prize, disputing Haberman's Pulitzer-winning reporting on Russia. Trump also warned that if Haberman were forced to reveal her sources they would "either don't exist, or didn't say what she reported," and demanded she surrender money she earned from reporting about him. The post continued attacks on Haberman's credibility and framed upcoming lawsuits as the vehicle to challenge her reporting and the Times' coverage.
