Trump says he'll report NBC's Kristen Welker to the FCC

journalismAug 30, 2026203,410

President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that NBC News' Meet the Press host Kristen Welker will be reported to the Federal Communications Commission for "rebuke or punishment" after Welker said his endorsements have produced "mixed results." Trump wrote that his endorsements have a 99 percent overall success rate and 100 percent senatorial success, and he called Welker "the Unpopular 'Hostess' of the once great Meet the Press" and Meet the Fake Press. He said the comment was a "purposeful inaccuracy" and added "I hope Brendan Carr takes this Threat to our Country very seriously." The article notes that four of Trump’s gubernatorial endorsements recently failed to win their nominations and two Trump-backed congressional candidates lost primaries in July. Trump and Welker previously clashed in June when he stormed out of an interview after she pressed him on his false 2020 election fraud claims. Trump framed the FCC referral as a response to what he called a campaign by "Radical Left News" to harass and libel anything about him.

Trump is now threatening to report NBC’s Kristen Welker to the FCC for “rebuke or punishment” because she said his endorsements have had “mixed results.” He then calls on FCC Chair Brendan Carr to “take this Threat to our Country very seriously.” Truly psychotic and anti-American.

Trump: "Kristen Welker, the Unpopular 'Hostess' of Meet the Fake Press, just stated that Donald Trump has 'mixed results' on Endorsements... Bc of this purposeful inaccuracy, she will be reported to FCC for rebuke or punishment... I hope Brendan Carr takes this Threat to our Country very seriously."

Kristen Welker, the Unpopular “Hostess” of the once great Meet the Press, now considered Meet the Fake Press, just stated that Donald Trump has “mixed results” on his Endorsements of Candidates, when the recent WINS of Darline Graham and Mike Mazzei, stand at 100% for the U.S. Senate, and 98% for the U.S. House, recently and over the longterm. How can anyone be allowed to say this, working for freely given Public Airwaves? Results are attached. Because of this purposeful inaccuracy, she will be reported to the FCC for rebuke or punishment. Unfortunately, she is not the only one. The Radical Left News is going out of their way to harass, demean, and libel anything “TRUMP.” Their new weapon is to say that my 99% SUCCESS Rate on Endorsements, 100% on Senatorial Endorsements (Many of whom were not even given a shot of winning until I Endorsed!), is either a mixed result, or not very good. In actuality, it is, without question, the strongest Endorsement in the History of Politics. If it were not, I would be the first to admit it. Darline Graham’s run for the Senate was the biggest story in all of Politics, because she wasn’t expected to win, and then, when I Endorsed her, and she easily won, the story of her Victory was hardly covered by anybody. Likewise, the future Governor of Oklahoma, who was behind in every Poll, I Endorsed him, he won, and the story was barely covered! The Press is a Disgrace to our Nation, and I hope that Chairman Brendan Carr, and the fine people of his Commission, will take this Threat to our Country very seriously. Thank you for your attention to this very important matter of Fake Polls and Commentary! President DONALD J. TRUMP

“Trump ‌on Sunday said in a post on Truth Social that NBC's Kristen Welker will be reported to the FCC for ‘rebuke or ‌punishment’, after he said she reported the Republican President had mixed results in his endorsement of candidates.” I remember when this would be unthinkable

Trump is getting more explicit about weaponizing the FCC. This morning he said Kristen Welker will be "reported to the FCC for rebuke or punishment" for saying something he didn't like about his endorsement record. (That's not a thing. By law, the FCC can't punish Welker.) And that's not all...

This morning Trump also said "THE FAKE POLLS USED BY OUR CROOKED MEDIA ARE OUT OF CONTROL, AND SOMETHING MUST BE DONE ABOUT IT. FCC TO THE RESCUE!" The FCC has limited power, and that's by design. But Brendan Carr has obviously been responsive to Trump's posts in the past...

I'm not a Kristen Welker fan, but Trump attacking MTP is an attack on the press & free speech. Trump knows if he says something insane, the press will jump all over it. So STOP REPORTING HIS BULLSHIT. If Trump is not in the news every day, maybe he'll explode & it will all be over.

And Todd Blanch expects us to believe this kind of presidential influence will totally never happen with the DOJ. 🙄

This must be a galvanizing moment to ensure democrats, independents, and traditional republicans vote in a blue wave to check this assault on American democracy. As much as I would love to debate how far left Dems should be, this is not the election for that. Focus on saving the country.

Trump is spiraling into the abyss, and he will do or say anything to make voters look the other way. He loses the midterms, his political power will be reduced to feeble, worthless attempts to control us with Executive Orders.

The main objective of these shows is to let Republicans politicians lie with a veneer of legitimacy. If Trump can’t take the mildest of rebukes maybe MTP & the other Sunday morning shows should just pack it up and we can get infomercials instead.
