Packers RB Josh Jacobs placed on commissioner exempt list
The NFL will place Josh Jacobs on the commissioner's-exempt list, per Adam Schefter. That means Jacobs will not count against the Packers' 53-man roster. It also opens up questions about whether he will play at all this season (and perhaps ever again in Green Bay).

Let it be clear though that absent league intervention they would have played him. I don’t want to hear again that the Packers are different about guys with issues.

Just trying to make sense of all of this. LaFleur JUST said he expects Josh Jacobs to be a part of the team. There’s no legal proceeding until mid-November and that’s just a prelim. A trial might not happen until 2027. Maybe the NFL wants time to gather more info. But what?

Possible Cabbage 🟢1I imagine what the NFL is doing is underlining that a legal strategy of "insisting you are blameless" is off the table. One imagines that if the DA and Jacobs can come to a settlement, the court date can be moved up because it's just procedural and it's time sensitive.
