Spider-Man: Brand New Day tops box office for fifth weekend
‘SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY’ has become the 3rd highest grossing movie of all time worldwide.
If Disney and Sony had known when to retire Marvel movies on a high note and make effective use of the one key exception, respectively, the Spider-Verse would currently be peaking as the definitive successor to the MCU.
Say what movie it beats for the 3rd place
Who said super hero movies are dead? Just show them this, lol They will never stop making Marvel movies including Spider-Man.
I think that box office success should be based on ticket numbers rather than money. The price of cinema tickets these days, of course movies are grossing more and more.
McDonald’s sells one billion Big Macs
You know what put it over? The tickets I just bought to take my 11 year old in 20 minutes
sweet, since it made ALL THAT MONEY no one will care if i pirate it then!
Wild to this this will likely be knocked out of the all time top five in just a little over a year after the release of Avengers: Doomsday and Cocomelon: The Movie
want to know why? bright blue and red suit
And it still doesn't have an ounce of cultural relevancy. Not even a meme.
I would say it seemed like half the concession line I waited in to see Coyote vs Acme was holding spider-man posters and there to see that movie. Amazing legs.
“adjusted for inflation” more important than ever
BTW, re COYOTE VS. ACME: its opening-weekend box office numbers are in, and they're quite positive. Behind SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY, @actorcoyote.bsky.social pushed THE ODYSSEY into #3. 🙂 deadline.com/2026/08/box-...
Ah Say, Ah Say Diane, Coyote Vs Acme is a fantastic ah said fantastic film!
I'm a bit surprised - happily though - that Spider-Man is still chugging along like a behemoth. I'm willing to bet the support and love the filmgoers have for that is that the movie's plot genuinely makes an effort to find emotional catharsis.
‘SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY’ has outgrossed the entire theatrical run of ‘AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER’ It is now the 3rd highest-grossing film of all time.
Spidey taking down Cameron again, nice!
Spider-Man will always be an exception to superhero fatigue
HOLY FUCKING SHIT?! IT JUST BEAT TITANIC?!
WOW! Spidey is really going places! The second James Cameron film that this film surpassed at the global box office!
Holy shit eventually it might reach number 1 holy shit
We've come out the other side of superhero fatigue and now audiences sincerely want superhero movies that aren't trying to transcend the genre. Just make something good and sincere. (Which doesn't bode well for CLAYFACE)
FUCK EM UP, SPIDEY! (I don't care if Spider-Man wins, I just want Avatar to lose)
#CoyoteVsACME managed to hold its own against the juggernaut that is Spider-Man: No Way Home (Arachnis marvelous), opening at #2 with a $15.4m take behind Spidey’s $22.2m: deadline.com/2026/08/box-...
This is even more impressive given it’s not in anywhere near as many cinemas as Dog Stars or No Way Home. We’re going to see it right now and the theatre only had 1 showing today. It wasn’t in the big multiplex downtown.
Also Coyote's domestic box office open is a little over 5x bigger than Ketchup's last LT film, The Day The Earth Blew Up (3.1m). I say that's a big win for Ketchup's Looney Tunes push.
This is a huge win! COYOTE VS. ACME (no. 2 at the B.O.) made more in its opening weekend than the entire promotional budget and is the biggest opening weekend for Ketchup Entertainment (the distributor that saved it from being shelved): deadline.com/2026/08/box-...
We can have good things
Saw it today w/ fam at one of the most crowded screenings in years. People laughed and clapped and strangers across generations talked on the way out about the many blink-and-you-miss-it jokes...my 12 year old nephew's first real experience of what it means when we talk about going to the movies.
