Rolling Stone names 25 Most Influential Creators of 2026
it’s that time of year again, Rolling Stone released their list of the top 25 content creators, which is actually a test of how old and out of touch you are… the lower your score, the more out of touch i’ve heard of 11 out of 25
some of the reactions to this list in the quote posts are a little sad… seeing stuff like “thank god i don’t know who any of these shits are” whether we know who these people are or not, i think it’s pretty cool that there is so much diverse independent media now from all walks of life
When do they announce the top 25 antique cat photo influencers?
3/25. Finally, I am an adult 🥹
Fuck them. It's the kids who are wrong.
oops, only got 2 out of 25 incidentally, I turn 30 this year 😅
Ms Rachel (5th), Hasan Piker (3rd)
This is fake. All these people are AI generated. This is all one big psy-op. And I'm not just saying that because I only got 3/25
I'm at 4 (5 if you count me going, "oh right, Kombucha Girl")
IT'S FINE IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT INFLUENCERS YOU'RE PROBABLY LIKE 35 YOU DON'T HAVE TO KEEP TRACK OF THIS SHIT.
14/25 May I never become the type of old who is so proud to be completely out of touch from youth culture. Not knowing makes sense, acting like it makes you superior somehow is fucking lame
What makes us out of touch is not how little of these people we know, it's taking a Rolling Stone list at face value.
I might recognize a few more of these people from a video clip than a still photo but I think I know maybe three or four?? maybe five, tops
The Rolling Stone content creators list is also the Bluesky citizenship test. If you know more than six of them you are denied entry and have to go back to wherever the young people are
This is ironic, since no one has ever read Rolling Stone who wasn't born prior to 1975.
I know almost all of them and I’m Mrs Fucking Bluesky
You can't get rid of me (7)
I wad scared, but then I went to look, and I only knew 3.
(The six I knew were Broski, who I only know from the kombucha meme, the subway takes guy, ms Rachel, druski, markiplier and piker. I haven't seen any of their work other than still images and, in one case, a parody of his stuff. But I still knew them!)
I have once again been snubbed by Rolling Stone, on account of me being a six piece chicken mcnobody
Rolling stone doesnt know talent even if it recommended them a good indie game smh
You'll always be a 10 piece to me!
But the dumpster ham scraps are so *good* Casey!
Hey, now, there's a whole *army* of us THREE piece chicken mcnobodies who think you're neat!
It's not about the amount of pieces but how well the chicken is seasoned.
hey i love a six piece chicken mcnobody also that may have just entered my lexicon henceforth and i'm blaming you for it
Here is Rolling Stone's Top 25 of "influential creators". Every single one of them is American. Many only have a fraction of the following of successful Indian, Japanese or Nigerian internet figures. Most are totally unknown outside of the US. This is a form of solipsism.
and not ONE of them is @tim-stillman.bsky.social and his onion sandwiches.
Classic Rolling Stone, whose top whatever lists have few women or non-white folks. Reminds me of the beginning years of MTV, when they refused to play Black music/musicians. Bowie called them out on it and I love him for it. youtu.be/vPFI930A3xw?...
I have heard the names Ms. Rachel and Hasan Piker, thanks to bluesky discourse about them. That is the full extent of my knowledge of anything here. www.rollingstone.com/culture/cult...
If you’re around little kids you’ll encounter Ms Rachel. She is amazing. Work informed by education research and grounded in love.
Never heard of any of them, and somehow I doubt that my day-to-day existence is in any way diminished for it 🙂
A real "Curtains for Zoosha" moment for me. I have heard of those two and also Alix Earle (who is feuding with Alex Cooper. Please do not ask any follow up questions about this) My #1 creator of 2026 is the same as it has been every year since 2011: Tyler.
