Giorgia Meloni becomes Italy’s longest‑serving postwar prime minister
Giorgia Meloni today becomes the longest serving Italian Prime Minister since World War II.
That photos no accident (I think I see what you did there?).
Sounds like an achievement. But: "The average duration of an Italian government since the establishment of the Republic in 1946 is approximately 416 days (just under 14 months)"
We invented Fascism, after all....
They like fascism in Italy. They even invented it!
I’ve looked at some legislation since 2022 and it doesn’t seem particularly far right - more slightly right Tory. Am I missing something?
Rings in the anniversary with a celebratory goosestep.
Today: Giorgia Meloni’s right-wing government becomes the longest-serving in the history of the Italian Republic.
Without being funny, this is somewhat rather damning on the concept of the Italian Republic, not a compliment to Meloni.
Reminder that the far right can govern and the idea that you can defeat them by forcing them to govern is both wrong and dangerous.
Känns som hon valdes in igår? Och har jag hallicunerat att Berlusconi var vid makten jättelänge?
What a coincidence! Her political movement was the longest-serving Italian government before 1945, as well.
