Several posts criticized the poll account and advised blocking it over concerns about AI involvement in the project, while other posters framed the poll as low-stakes fun or a provocation to log off. Organizers and participants treat the poll as a two-week event, and the coming publication of the top 38 is already shaping campaigning, nominations, and conversation about influence on the site.

Checking back in with stats before I go back to being mostly offline. bsky38.com has hit 10k+ unique voters!! 81k plus votes, and 15k Nominees. That's at least 10k identities with a com.bsky38.* lexicon in their repo and 81k records written in about 30hrs

honestly the moment i saw bluesky 38 i got a bad vibe and blocked it. didn't even consider that AI may be involved but given that bluesky itself is also vibe-coded junk i shouldn't be surprised. the account is @bsky38.com - block it and don't engage with their popularity contest/AI slop combo.
