Bird of the Day, theme 'ABCD'

Bird of the Day is a daily community event with today’s theme #ABCD, asking for birds whose names begin with A, B, C, or D, with an alternate theme #RSTU. Participants are posting wildlife photos and field shots that emphasize species and moments, from backyard perches to birds in flight and feeding flocks. Standout entries include a California scrub-jay, a Brown-headed Cowbird perched on a deer, and a Northern cardinal glaring at the photographer, plus posts of a Bullfinch in sunshine and a small group of European Bee-eaters stopping to feed. Look for hummingbirds like a Black-chinned and a Ruby-throated, waterbirds such as an American Coot and an Anhinga, and action shots like a Sandhill Crane mid hop under the hashtag #ABCD.
