Taylor Swift sat alongside Tom Cruise at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday night to watch her husband Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs open the NFL season against the Denver Broncos. It was the first time Swift had seen Kelce play since the couple married on July 3 at Madison Square Garden, where Adam Sandler officiated and Stevie Nicks performed. Swift skipped the Emmy Awards despite a nomination for The Eras Tour: The Final Show because the outstanding variety special winner was already announced at the Creative Arts Emmys. Swift and Kelce’s romance began after her 2023 performance at Arrowhead, when Kelce failed to deliver a friendship bracelet and later invited her to a game that sparked their relationship. Kelce decided to return for a 14th NFL season after a 6-11 Chiefs finish last year, and Patrick Mahomes, who tore knee ligaments in the offseason, rehabbed in time to play against Denver. Kelce has also been building his business portfolio, including buying a small share of David Blitzer’s stake in the Cleveland Guardians. Jason Kelce called the July wedding “gorgeous” on ESPN’s pregame show and praised Sandler’s officiating.
