Apple TV released Slow Horses season 6, whose opening episode Circle Of Life drew early positive reviews, and simultaneously announced a renewal through season 8 with Sir Gary Oldman attached. The streamer said the eighth season will be six episodes adapted from Clown Town, the ninth novel in Mick Herron’s Slough House series. Apple described the series as Emmy- and BAFTA Award-winning and said the show follows a team of British intelligence agents stuck at Slough House after career-ending mistakes, led by the irascible Jackson Lamb played by Gary Oldman. Season eight’s plot will pit Jackson Lamb against Diana Taverner in what Apple called their most explosive confrontation yet after a botched blackmail attempt targeting the Park puts Taverner on the offensive. Jay Hunt, creative director International at Apple TV, said she was delighted Lamb and his gang of misfits will return and praised the show’s acerbic take on espionage. With season 6 now airing and season 8 already greenlit and mapped to a specific novel, production momentum is set to continue into the next two seasons.
