Angel City FC beat Seattle Reign 3-1 at BMO Stadium after goals from Ally Sentnor, Ary Borges and Taylor Suarez. Sentnor converted an 18th-minute penalty after a corner ricocheted off Angharad James-Turner’s elbow, and Borges redirected a 40th-minute corner into the far post while Claudia Dickey was flat-footed. The match remained choppy until the 80th minute when substitute Taylor Suarez created space with a couple of touches and rifled a shot into the upper corner for Angel City’s third. Sofia Huerta scored a late stoppage-time consolation for Seattle. Angel City leaned on set pieces all night; the club entered the match leading the league with nine set-piece goals and scored two direct corner goals tonight. Seattle, which had traveled more than 1,500 miles in a three-game week and made four lineup changes, remains in eighth place but is now in a much more precarious position with Angel City one point behind.
