The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 8-2 at Dodger Stadium Friday as top prospect Josue De Paula delivered key hits in his Dodger Stadium debut and the club launched five home runs. Mookie Betts opened the scoring with a leadoff homer in the first and added a second long ball in the eighth; Betts’ first was his 33rd leadoff homer with the Dodgers. De Paula started the fifth with a leadoff single that helped set up the tying run and ripped an RBI double in the sixth to drive in Kyle Tucker. The Dodgers broke the game open in the eighth with consecutive homers by Max Muncy and Tucker, a two-out walk drawn by De Paula, Betts’ second homer, and a Will Smith blast completing a four-homer inning. Tyler Glasnow threw six innings, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out a season-high six, and Kris Bubic, Tanner Scott and Edwin Díaz finished with three scoreless innings. The win kicks off L.A.’s final homestand, extends the Dodgers’ season-series advantage over the Giants in recent years, and De Paula’s performance bolsters his case for a postseason roster spot.
