Nicolas Jackson scored his first Premier League goal for Aston Villa with a powerful finish in the 67th minute to double Villa’s lead in a 3-2 win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Johan Manzambi opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time (45+4') and Emiliano Buendía added a third in the 79th minute; Tottenham’s late goals from Conor Gallagher and Jan Vertonghen Van Hecke were only consolations. The victory gave Aston Villa their first Premier League win of the season and leaves Tottenham winless going into the international break. Unai Emery praised Jackson and goalkeeper Zion Suzuki after the match, and Jackson was substituted for Tammy Abraham late on. Villa now head into two friendlies before the season resumes, closing the first chapter on a positive result.
