Watched the 2002 Resident Evil movie for the first time. Some fun stuff sandwiched between a lot of boring things but what really struck me was how much the male lead looks like Anthony Jeselnik and how the computer sounded exactly like the Ghost of Christmas Past Muppet.

I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but I love them. Especially the first 3...I've rewatched those so many times with my brother. You should watch them at least once.

I thought they were pretty uniformly terrible. Instead of horror and dread, it was bad 00's action with the attendant soundtracks. I love Milla, and there are some other good actors scattered throughout, but they devolve into really inane CGI slop by the end. Of course I have the Blu-ray set.

The sequels for sure, but there was some horror elements in the first Resident Evil movie… On the point of action though, the fourth and fifth films had some pretty fun action, if nothing else. 💁‍♂️
