Elon Musk posted a series of messages on X attacking filmmaker Alex Gibney after the Venice premiere of Gibney’s four-hour documentary Musk, calling Gibney a “bitter old man” with “zero integrity” and dismissing the film as “a hit piece that misses” and “boring af.” Gibney, who has made films about Enron, WikiLeaks and Vladimir Putin, told reporters at Venice he found people fearful about participating and described Musk as “extremely dangerous.” Musk reposted an image portraying a chain of puppets linking the Democratic party, “Team Soros,” Alex Gibney and Hollywood, captioning the image “Accurate,” and he called the documentary rollout “a psy op” in reply to a supporter. Musk denied a claim in the film by his ex-partner Ashley St Clair that his team offered her $40m to sign a nondisclosure agreement, saying she has a history of false claims. NPR reported that Musk’s lawyer has threatened to sue Gibney for defamation. The episode underscores Musk’s ability to shape coverage of the film through posts on X, and Gibney suggested at his press conference that Musk’s difficult childhood may help explain his current behavior.

Today I saw the new 4 hour documentary Musk, directed by Alex Gibney. There were too many times to count that a sold out theater burst out laughing at Elon Musk, something he said or did, even sometimes just how he looked. I believe that is his worst nightmare come to life.

I should add that in addition to being much funnier than anticipated--Musk is going to be intensely humiliated by this movie, it's going to attack the deepest wounds he tries so hard to conceal--it is also bone-chilling. I think he gutted USAID with DOGE to kill masses of people in the third world.

I was at this screening described in the thread and this had caught my attention too. It was very much the mocking laughter that one would direct at a pathetic loser. They also laughed when Charlie Kirk turned up for a brief cameo. The film is most effective showing clips of Musk being a dumbass.
