Schoolyard Films posts 'In the Wild... with Bears' for Fat Bear Week

Schoolyard Films is sharing the free feature "In the Wild... with Bears," a short film about Alaskan bears by wildlife camerawoman Erin Ranney. The piece showcases Ranney’s cinematography and her field experience on land and boats in Alaska. Ranney is based in Alaska and Washington State and holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Ecology from Washington State University and a Masters in Wildlife Documentary Production from England. She has worked as a camerawoman for BBC, PBS, Smithsonian, and the National Geographic Channel and filmed and hosted a children’s conservation series for CBBC. Ranney trained as a deep-sea video engineer on Dr. Robert Ballard’s Nautilus controlling ROV cameras at depths of 4,000 meters. She is a third generation commercial fisherwoman running a set net operation in Bristol Bay, Alaska, and holds qualifications as a trained guide and naturalist in bear country, an FAA certified drone pilot, a certified Wilderness First Responder, and a BSAC certified SCUBA diver. Schoolyard Films invites educators and viewers to contact them to share how they use the organization’s educational materials.
