Cristiano Ronaldo announced he has left Portugal's national team training camp after a conversation with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation and said he will explain his reasons "in time." The 41-year-old forward had been included in Jorge Jesus's 25-man squad, started the Nations League game against Wales, but did not play in Portugal's 2-1 win over Norway in Oslo and did not go to the visiting fans at the final whistle. Coach Jorge Jesus denied a rift, saying he told Ronaldo before the Norway game he would not start and that Ronaldo completed individual mobility and strengthening work rather than squad training. Portuguese media showed video of Ronaldo leaving Copenhagen's Parken Stadium with two backroom staff before he posted his statement on Instagram. The federation confirmed his departure and said preparations continue with the remaining 24 players focused on upcoming fixtures. Jesus said Goncalo Ramos, who scored the winner against Norway, would again be preferred to Ronaldo against Denmark and that he could bring Ronaldo on if needed.
