AIPT relaunched its 31 Days of Halloween series after a four-year break with a new daily horror article every day through October 31. The kickoff piece spotlights 2000 AD’s Scream! Halloween Special, a 48-page issue due October 28 that promises “the true meaning of fear.” Editor Chiara Mestieri, who uses the moniker Ghastly McNasty, said the team dialed up “shock, horror, blood, and guts” for the new special. The issue features a Salvador Lavado cover honoring longtime editor Ghastly McNasty and five new tales by contributors including Zoe Tunnell, Alex Paknadel, Zac Thompson, Chloe Brailsford, and others. AIPT’s article traces Scream! back to its 1984 roots and notes past contributors such as John Wagner and Alan Moore while presenting interviews and story insights from the creators working on the 2024 special.
