Will Ospreay to defend AEW World Title in Clockwork Carnage at WrestleDream

Will Ospreay will defend the AEW World Championship in an eight-person Clockwork Carnage match at AEW WrestleDream. AEW announced on Collision that Ospreay asked Tony Khan to bring the Clockwork Carnage concept to the company and Khan approved the idea. The match is divided into two stages: wrestlers are eliminated by pinfall or submission until all eight competitors have entered, then a 15-minute scoring period begins. During that 15-minute period each pinfall or submission counts as one fall and the wrestler with the most falls at the end is the winner. Because the title is on the line during the scoring period, Ospreay’s championship could change hands multiple times before a final winner is determined. WrestleDream will be the first time AEW presents the Clockwork Carnage match format.
