President Donald Trump announced the creation of a federal Super Intelligence Force, or SIF, to coordinate the government’s efforts to keep the United States at the forefront of rapidly developing artificial intelligence. The SIF will coordinate federal engagement with consumers, public-interest and religious groups, critical infrastructure providers and technology companies, Trump said in a Truth Social post. Trump said the effort will be led by senior administration officials and will report directly to him and White House chief of staff Susie Wiles. The announcement follows a recent White House summit where Trump renamed artificial intelligence across the executive branch to "Super Intelligence" and said tech executives signed a "morally binding" White House Accord on Super Intelligence. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote that he viewed the summit as a "positive step" and praised major American labs for committing to internal controls, audits, and reviews. Several posts and reports named Jay Clayton and Federal Trade Commission chair Andrew Ferguson as leaders of the task force and said the SIF would deliver an assessment and recommendations on AI oversight within 120 days.
