Organisers unveiled BOWIE80, a yearlong programme of events, special releases, exhibitions, collaborations and fan experiences to mark what would have been David Bowie’s 80th year. The campaign begins immediately and runs through 2027 with launches and activities worldwide. US retailer Nordstrom will host three immersive Bowie shops in its Seattle, New York City and Chicago flagships and on its website, offering exclusive limited-edition collections made for the campaign. The Victoria and Albert Museum will stage David Bowie: On Tour, sending artefacts from Bowie’s 90,000-item archive on a UK tour that begins in Dundee and moves to Blackpool in 2027, with further venues scheduled for 2028 and 2029. The show David Bowie: You’re Not Alone, which opened at London’s Lightroom this year, will tour to Manchester and Brighton in 2027. Official Charts noted Bowie’s presence on the charts during the campaign, including The Shel Talmy Recordings from 1965 reaching the Albums Chart Top 20. Organisers say additional releases, anniversaries and collaborations will roll out across the BOWIE80 calendar.
