Mercedes Moné defeated Queen Aminata in Paris to retain the AEW Women's World Championship at AEW Grand Slam France. Queen Aminata delivered a hard-hitting performance and drew “Ohhh Queen Aminata” chants, with observers calling the match a banger and, for some, a very special bout despite the loss. The Paris crowd was loud and energetic throughout the show. After the match Thekla appeared, mocked Moné earlier in the broadcast and then took out Moné following the finish, setting up Thekla as a looming challenger for the title.
