Majora's Mask soundtrack added to Nintendo Music

gamingOct 8, 202620318

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask original soundtrack was added to Nintendo Music, and fans are treating the drop as the latest moment in a week of Majora-focused attention. Many are replaying and praising the game’s dark, mysterious score while calling out that this is the original N64 OST rather than the Majora’s Mask 3D soundtrack, so some hoped-for orchestral extra credits themes are absent. Posters also tied the release to recent Nintendo gestures for the game, a new title font, special Nintendo Today art, and returning Switch profile icons, and one fan said the newfound attention to this once-obscure soundtrack has been personally sustaining.

Yesssssssss!!!! Just missing Twilight Princess now and all 3D Zelda aoST are added!!!

TIL that the final hours theme is officially named ‘Last Day’ in this game. It’s also hilarious how dedicated this game is to calling those creatures at Romani Ranch ‘ghosts’ when they’re clearly aliens lol. Even the soundtrack is in on it…

A Nightmare on Joe Street2

I have been waiting for this one since day 1 Stone Tower Temple here I come

That Man, Danger Zone2

I think Astral Observatory might be one of the best pieces of music in the whole series.

Who wants to bet they'll add The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D next week? If they're not going to add it at the same time as this, they might as well keep the Majora's Mask hype train going, rather than be an inevitable disappointing solo addition in the future. #NintendoMusic

Everyone say thank you to me because this wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t started playing it

To me it's less "oh hey check out the new Nintendo thing" and more "huh isn't that the artist that drew for Hotel Dusk? That music sounds really Motoi Sakuraba? Oh cool Christine Love is writing a new thing?" The real heroes are the individuals, whose fingerprints are on your favorite things.

Nintendo gave Majora’s Mask a new title font when it showcased the series for its 40th. Then they added a bunch of special art for it in Nintendo Today, released new Switch profile icons for it this week, and TONIGHT they put the OST on Nintendo Music!!! If theres no remake, this is just cruel 🥲

Hell yeah. Slightly annoyingly though, this is JUST Majora's Mask, not Majora's Mask 3D. Seems like just like OoT, those OSTs are being treated as separate despite being practically the same. So, no orchestral 2nd credits theme. Though tbh that one isn't as good as OoT3D's extra credits anyways...

This week really was all about Majora's Mask. The Nintendo Today cards, the My Nintendo icons returning, and now the full soundtrack in Nintendo Music. Great way to treat my personal favorite Zelda game. Now I just hope it gets remade next.
