Troye Sivan releases 'She's the Best' album

musicOct 9, 202641334

Troye Sivan released his fourth studio album She's the Best, which critics have praised and which arrived alongside a new sultry video for the song "FF." The Guardian describes the record as a shift from straightforward dance-pop toward intimate, 1990s alt-dance and Balearic-inflected songwriting, noting shoegaze and Smiths-like touches and calling Sivan a singular pop star who fills arenas without ever becoming a chart dominator. The album features Charli XCX on backing vocals on the title track and uses a Madonna sample on the single "Party," which the Guardian reports Madonna personally approved. Vogue called the project Sivan’s most experimental yet and highlighted the sensual "FF" video; one press piece and social posts identify "FF" as shorthand for a profanity-laced phrase. The track "Lost Time" includes French spoken lines by Lily-Rose Depp, and explanatory coverage has published English translations and context for those lines. Reviewers singled out the record’s intimate storytelling and 90s alt-dance influences as a deliberate stylistic turn rather than a bid for mainstream smash singles.

Love the glasses on him. Makes me want him even more 😮‍💨

My favorite lore from all this is that he hired his ex to take the album promo photos, and then told the press a story that basically boiled down to "I'm still down real bad", now he's showing tummy like my dachshund demanding belly-rubs. Every twink is a demon avatar of Chaos, you love to see it.

Saw Troye Sivan at a diner last night, but I was too shy to ask for an autograph.

A skeleton decoration sitting at the bar counter seating of a diner. It is wearing a tank top and a backwards baseball cap.

Troye Sivan saying he doesn't fit in queer spaces and thats why he made his new songs One of the Girls. Really is about marketing. His biggest market is straight women. Cause as any functional gay man or lesbian woman knows, gay spaces are often awash with heterosexual people who dont respect us.

it's funny (not really) how people get mad at troye sivan because "his entire brand is just being gay" god forbid being gay is a huge part of people's identity and lives and they want to express it because it's important and primordial to them and others, I guess...
