This is heartbreaking. Kids are being killed in class. And it's been 13 years since the Sandy Hook shooting. It's way past time for Congress to pass gun safety reforms. My heart goes out to every family suffering with a loss tonight. Our kids deserve better.

This is heartbreaking. From this senseless act in Bend to the daily toll of violence on our communities, we must do better for our children.   We need to pass gun safety laws now. Anyone who stands in the way is complicit.

I’m devastated to hear about the senseless mass shooting at Silver Rail Elementary in Bend, Oregon. Our students deserve to feel safe in their classrooms — and we cannot afford to wait any longer to make that a reality. We need to end gun violence and pass meaningful legislation now.

A teacher and three children aged 5,8, and 11, were killed today at Silver Rail Elementary School in Oregon. This is an utterly horrific tragedy – and not the first time our country has felt this unbearable pain.
