Final Fantasy Resonance earns strong early reviews

Final Fantasy Resonance landed with review embargo lifts and critics calling it a charming HD-2D return to classic turn-based Final Fantasy gameplay. Conversation is centering on the Vision system as the engine of flashy, deeply customizable combat, Vaan emerging as one of the most useful Visions, and the soundtrack and pixel art receiving near-universal praise. At the same time multiple voices point to an underwhelming, clichéd story, creating a split between players obsessed with systems and those left wanting more from the narrative. Some players describe long playthroughs and even planning days off to dive in, underscoring how the game’s combat and presentation are driving immediate enthusiasm.

Pleased to report that the new game Final Fantasy Resonance is *tremendous*, a must-play for anyone who loves the SNES Final Fantasy games and hopefully the beginning of a new Square strategy to produce both 3D and 2D games moving forward.
