Nintendo Classics adds Mole Mania, Avenging Spirit, Revenge of the 'Gator

gamingOct 22, 202628496

Nintendo Classics is adding three Game Boy titles to Nintendo Switch Online on Oct. 27: Mole Mania, Avenging Spirit, and Revenge of the 'Gator. The moment centers on Mole Mania finally arriving, with longtime admirers calling it a Shigeru Miyamoto gem and arguing it might be the best Game Boy game, while viewers audibly gasped watching the reveal. Conversation also fixates on Avenging Spirit's famously misleading box art and new interest in Revenge of the 'Gator as a HAL-developed surprise. Amid the excitement some players joked about a hypothetical Mole Mania 2 and updated community charts noted this batch as another milestone in the year's updates.

All three of these are really good!! For a system that really lacks huge titles, these three are some of the best in the pre-Pokémon era

Updated the #NSO Classics chart with next week's games: #364: Avenging Spirit (GB) #365: Mole Mania (GB) #366: Revenge of the 'Gator (GB) This update marks 40 games for the year, which passes 2022 and ties 2025. Still two months to go, so we should presumably get at least 2 more updates.

A chart tracking updates to the Nintendo Classics catalog, accurate as of October 27th, 2026.

Some more Game Boy games are coming to the Nintendo Classics next week, which leaves basically one Switch Online library untouched this year - right, @sewart.bsky.social?

I usually dunk on these random game drops, but Mole Mania is a great one!! Shigeru Miyamoto was the producer on it, and it’s a pretty underrated puzzle game!

Mole Mania is actually pretty sick and Revenge of the 'Gator's apparently pretty cool too (HAL developed it) Most importantly though, Avenging Spirit has some of *the* most misleading box art of all time.
