Joe Davis pays tribute to Bob Uecker on Cooper Pratt home run call

sportsOct 28, 202625470

On the national broadcast, Joe Davis echoed Bob Uecker’s famous home run line, shouting “Get up, get out, gone!”, when Cooper Pratt hit a go-ahead home run to give the Brewers the lead. Several posts called the call a direct tribute to the late Brewers announcer, with commenters calling it “perfect” and “an amazing Uecker tribute.” Other posts criticized the moment as overwrought or premature, and some argued the FOX booth needs changes after the telecast. The call was paired in the broadcast with ongoing booth commentary from John Smoltz and Tom Verducci about the game’s developments.

Smoltz’s last words would 100 percent be “see I knew Milwaukee couldn’t close the deal here and win this!!”

This was hubris. Blame John Smoltz and Joe Davis and especially Tom Verducci. You can't hand it to them until it's over. Baseball gods don’t like that

Thanks For Sharing, Jerk4

The baseball gods don’t even recognize Verducci, that’s an insult to the gods

I knew when Joe started eulogizing the Rays they would come back. Dude did the same thing to the Dodgers last year and then Miguel Rojas happened.

What a great call by Joe Davis on the national broadcast. "Get up, get out, gone!" was the call of the late, great Brewers announcer Bob Uecker. Perfect time to break it out for what could be a World Series winning home run. #WorldSeries #Brewers #MLB
