Death Stranding Isolations anime announced for Disney+, arriving 2027

gamingOct 30, 202618947

Death Stranding Isolations, a new hand-drawn 2D anime announced by Hideo Kojima, debuted a teaser and poster and is slated for Disney Plus and Hulu in 2027. The series tells an original, post-Death Stranding 1 story set in North America after Sam reconnects the continent via the Chiral Network, with Takayuki Sano directing and Tow Ubukata writing the scripts. Early fan attention has clustered on the show’s female lead and a striking tagline, "My mom became a crater," alongside a brief teaser moment focusing on the heroine waking from a nightmare. Reactions range from excitement and Edgerunners-style hopes for a bold adaptation to skepticism about the choice of writer and the Disney Plus exclusive release.

Messaged this to my dad, who put 300 hours into the original Death Stranding and got the platinum trophy for it but also hasn't watched much anime besides when he watched Berserk 1997 with me, which he loved a lot

When you want junk sci-fi writing and don't care about associating with a wife beater, you call Tow Ubukata, for some reason

They only released a teaser, but my mind is already freeze frame analyzing each shot. I hope this is to Death Stranding what Edgerunners is to Cyberpunk 2077.

7 seconds of this 45 second trailer focus on what I can only describe as the 'underboob' of the heroine before she wakes up from a nightmare. Never change, Death Stranding. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruIT...

Death Stranding anime key visual with a despondent cute girl protagonist, coming to Disney Plus, and with the caption "My mom became a crater" is just so many disparate things happening all at once
