Houston ICE Agent Indicted for Ramming Man

newsOct 30, 2026314,322

A Harris County grand jury on Friday indicted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Mario Alberto Morales, 33, on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after prosecutors say his vehicle struck construction worker Miguel Parra Hernandez during an Oct. 10 vehicle pursuit in northwest Houston. Video and surveillance footage circulated in reporting appear to show Parra Hernandez running away when the ICE vehicle veered around a corner and struck him from behind, contradicting ICE’s initial claim that he "ran in front of" the vehicle. Parra Hernandez suffered multiple leg fractures and was hospitalized after the crash. The indictment follows a Harris County investigation and brings state felony charges against Morales; District Attorney Teare said she hopes holding an ICE agent accountable will communicate that the office does not condone the tactics used. Local news outlets and national papers reported the grand jury action Friday and prosecutors will now move forward with the criminal case in county court.
