U.S. to fly dozens of Afghan evacuees from Louisiana to Pakistan
I’ve been hearing this rumor for weeks, but was unable to confirm. Grateful NYT was able to. ICE Air’s evil has no bottom, but I thought they’d at least have the strategic foresight to wait until after Election Day. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/30/w...
However, NYT editors, I take issue with this framing. It is illegal under US and int'l law to deport someone to a country where they may face persecution (refoulement), WHICH INCLUDES sending them somewhere we know will deport them to a country where they may face persecution (chain refoulement).
The entire administration are murderers, kidnappers and human traffickers Let's make sure they never have a day of peace for the rest of their miserable lives
ICE is a group of terrorists. They need to be dealt with like a enemy of the state.
Besides the unimaginable act of loading these allies onto transport to possible death, this is a terrible thing to put on the conscience of our troops who in many cases worked side by side with or were saved by Afghan assistance. There is no greater betrayal than sending allies to their deaths.
In May 1783 General Carleton told General Washington he would not hand back the Black Loyalists who had served the King. They had been promised their freedom, and he kept it, families and all. Even the Crown we fought kept faith with those who served it. I had hoped a Republick might do as much.
I’m so glad my Afghan friends landed in Canada vs the USA.
This is so infuriating and heartbreaking and wrong.
Even if you lack the humanity to see how evil this is... American troops will die because of this. People who might have risked their own lives to keep our forces out of danger will choose not to, because they now know the US gov't will betray them and their families.
Damn every person who had a part in this Republicans are filthy racists
The Trump administration reportedly plans to fly over 150 Afghans to Pakistan, where they may be expelled into Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. Some face credible fears of persecution. Changing the route does not erase the danger. It raises questions about accountability. #HumanRights #Afghanistan
“Risk of persecution” is a crazy understatement here. I think it’s fair to call this refoulement.
